PURPOSE:To reduce the load on a host computer by allowing the communication controller to disconnect a link by itself when the frequency of resending attains to a specific value, and set a new link and continue data communication. CONSTITUTION:The frequency of the resending of data blocks after a link A is set up is counted by the firmware of the communication controller 4 and when the coincidence with a previously specified value is detected, the link A is disconnected through the firmware of the communication controller 4. A new link B is set on the basis of opposite device information fetched in the firmware and data communication with the same terminal is continued. When the transmission of all data stored in a memory 2 is completed, the communication controller 4 reports the completion to a CPU1 for a data transmission command. |
