<p>The relay has a permanent magnet with two soft iron pole pieces, a magnetic shunt and an armature interacting with the pole pieces and a control coil. The two soft iron pole pieces are flat U-shaped elements which clamp the permanent magnet and the magnetic shunt between them so that a flat structure is produced. The movable armature normally rests on one arm of each pole piece. Two coil springs (24, 15) are mounted on the movable armature (6) for its release.
