PURPOSE:To constitute a small-sized, inexpensive inertial type gyroscope which is usable for the navigation of a running car, etc., by reducing the friction of a power shaft by a simple method. CONSTITUTION:The torque generated by gyro moment needs to be detected accurately so as to provide the inertial type gyro with high precision and high resolution, but friction makes this accurate torque detection difficult. Nutation axis B which crosses a spin axis A at right angles is composed of torsion bars 31 and 32, which are used as power input terminals of an electric motor for flywheel rotation; and the torsion angles of the torsion bars are detected by a contactless displacement sensor. Consequently, the need to consider the friction at this place is eliminated, and even if a flywheel is turned at a low speed, the precision is high and cost reduction and prolongation of the life are attained. |
