PURPOSE:To keep good color tone and to enhance electrostatic charge retentivity and charge retention amt. by incorporating a copper phthalocyanine pigment in a styrene-acrylic resin medium having an acid value of >=10 to prepare a negatively chargeable color toner. CONSTITUTION:The color toner can be obtained by copolymerizing ethylenically unsatd. carboxylic acid having an acid value of >=10, especially, 15-80, acrylate and/or methacrylate, and a styrene type monomer to prepare a styrene-acrylic resin having an acid value of >=15; mixing this resin, copper phthalocyanine represented by formula I in an amt. of 1-30pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of said resin, polyolefin wax of low mol.wt., etc.; kneading the mixture at a temp. not below the solftening point of said resin; pulverizing the kneaded compsn.; and classifying it. |
