PURPOSE:To easily connect a bundle of flat type optical fiber cables by providing a recessed and a projection part at opposite positions on the outer periphery of a connector in the direction of strain in section perpendicular to optical axes of polarization plane maintaining optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:A projection part 37 and a recessed part 38 are provided opposite to each other on the outer periphery of a connector in the main axis direction of the polarization plane maintaining optical fiber 11 which has an elliptic stress impressed layer. Projection parts of connectors 31-36 are fitted in recessed parts of adjacent connectors to align main axis of all polarization plane maintaining optical fibers 11-16 constituting the flat type optical cable. When they are connected at a time, connecting rods 48 are fitted in formed holes 49 with connectors 31, so that the optical cable fibers are connected mutually at a time with high precision without any deviation of the main axis of each cable. |
