PURPOSE:To attain to enhance stability and accuracy by simplifying constitution, by allowing linear polarizations from measuring and reference polarization plane conservation optical fibers to be incident to a beam splitter so as to cross the polarization azimuths thereof at right angles and specifically processing the emitting beams thereof in two directions. CONSTITUTION:Linear polarization from a beam source part 1 is divided into two polarizations which are, in turn, allowed to be incident to one of two optical axes of measuring and reference polarization plane conservation optical fibers 4, 5 and the emitting beams thereof are adjusted so as to be crossed at right angles to each other to be allowed to be incident to a beam splitter 6. One of the emitting beams is incident to a beam detector 12a through an 1/4 wavelength plate 11 to take out a component in a direction inclined by 45 deg. to a polarization azimuth. The other emitting beam is directly incident to a beam detector 12b to take out a component in a direction inclined by 45 deg. to a polarization azimuth while both components are respectively inputed to an operator 13 through beam receiver 7a, 7b and high pass filters 9a, 9b to calculate output containing no drift component. |
