AN OPTICAL ELEMENT AND APPARATUS FOR RECORDING/REPRODUCING USING THEM

An optical element and a recording/reproducing apparatus using the same are provided to suppress eccentricity of an incident light beam from an optical axis and to suppress a change of a spot diameter of the light beam converged and illuminated on an optical recording layer of an optical disk. An optical element includes optical lenses(1,2) which are formed at a part of a light converging unit by using a dry-etching method. A position matching marker is formed at a periphery of the optical lens. The light converging unit is formed with a plurality of lenses which are disposed on a light path of a light beam. A position of the light converging unit is matched by the position matching marker. A recording/reproducing apparatus is used for recording/reproducing an information signal on the optical recording medium. The optical element is used partially in an optical system.
