PURPOSE:To discriminate easily the arithmetic data from arithmetic marks by separating them from each other when the result is printed out in the form of a calculation formula including the calculating processes. CONSTITUTION:An electronic device such as an electronic typewriter, etc. is provided with a keyboard 1 containing a processing mode switch 1A, a print mode switch 1B, etc. in addition to numerical keys, a central processor 2, a display device 5, a printer 6, etc. Then an entry register 10 is added together with a work register 11, a display output editing buffer 13A, a print output editing buffer 13B, a stack register 15, etc. The numerical input data given from the keyboard 1 is stored to the register 10 and then displayed 5. At the same time, a separator code is applied for separation of printed characters after the input of the next arithmetic mark is decided. Thus an editing process is carried out. Then a blank part is secured between the numerical data and the arithmetic mark via a print output buffer 14. A printer 6 works for a print-out operation.
