PURPOSE:To perform speedy, secure white balance control during an unblanking period on the basis of storage contents of optimum color temperature information in a blanking period. CONSTITUTION:When four-way switches 23-26 are placed at a side M, latch pulses are held at H and the conventional white balance control operation is performed. When the switches 23-26 are set at a side A, on the other hand, the output of a color temperature-volage converting circuit 22 and the output of a microcomputer 20 are inputted to comparators 13 and 14. Therefore, the comparators 13 and 14 while comparing both output voltages output an optimum gain control voltage from the computer 20 to R and B gain control circuits 5 and 6 to perform white balance control.
