PURPOSE:To attain the conversion of character types with simple operation by using a character type conversion/editing mechanism that can convert the character type within a designated section of an input character string into a designated character type. CONSTITUTION:The character type in a certain section of a character train displayed on a display 3 is converted into another character type. In this case, a cursor shift key 41 is first operated on a key board 4 to move a cursor to a character type conversion start position. Then a designation key 42 for start/end position of character type conversion is pushed to inform the start position of character conversion to a CPU1. Then the cursor shift key is operated again to move the cursor to the end position of character conversion. Then, a designation key 43 for start/end position of character type conversion is pushed to inform the end position of character conversion to the CPU1. Then a character type conversion key 41 is pushed to designate a desired type of the character to be cinverted. Then the CPU1 refers to a character type conversion dictionary in a memory 2 to convert a designated character type into a desired character type. |
