The reactor (10) for exhaust gases emitted by combustion engines (52) with pulsating exhaust, has an exhaust channel (12) through which the gases (31) are conducted to a bundle of tubes (32). In said bundle of tubes, the gases (31) are mixed with fresh air (20) so as to obtain a mixture (37) intended to react. Said mixture reacts in a chamber and flows as burned gases (62) towards an exhaust conduit (15). In order to reduce noxious substances contained in the gases (31), said secondary reaction takes place, at least approximately, during the gas movement of the motor (52), the exhaust conduit (12) being closed on the motor side. There are also provided means to spatially diverge or converge the shock and reflection waves, which are outshifted forwardly and caused by the periodical movement of the exhaust gases. The converging cones are thus overheated and exhaust gases are directed to said zones. The walls of the reactor (10) which convey the exhaust gases and the shock waves are such that the gases pass by the overheated zones at the time of explosion forming said secondary reaction. |
