This razor comprises a blade (313) with a double cutting edge fixed to a support plate (312), a cap (311) covering the blade (313), a handle (310), and guard bars (316). The cap (311) can be moved by sliding with respect to the blade (313), and the support plate (312) between two shaving positions, in which one or the other cutting edge of the blade (313) is exposed, and an intermediate safety position in which the cap (311) covers each of the cutting edges in order to protect the user. A pinion (317) fixed to the handle meshes with a rack (319) located at the lower face of the cap (311), so that a pivoting movement of the razor head with respect to the handle (310) causes the cap (311) to move from its intermediate safety position towards one or other shaving position. <IMAGE>
