PURPOSE:To avoid applying the weight of a sorting plate carrying thereon a fruit to a switching rail, by switchably providing the switching rail such that the lower side of the switching rail is shifted to the shaft center and the upper side thereof is vertically shifted. CONSTITUTION:A sorting plate carrying thereon a fruit is guided and transferred with its fruit carrying posture being maintained while the slide-contact pin 2 of the sorting plate is made in slide-contact with a guid rail 3. When the sorting plate approaches a switching rail 4 in a sorting position, the associatingly driven switching rail 4 is moved such that the lower side thereof in the fruit transferring direction (a) is shifted to the center of a shaft 5 and the vertical side end thereof is shifted upward in the direction (b), and the slide-contact pin 2 of the sorting plate is received in the shift gap formed between one end of the switching rail 4 moved upward and the end of the guide rail 3 by which the sorting plate has been guide until then, without being shifted onto the switching rail 4 and therefore, and comes off the rail 3 so that the sorting plate is tilted to discharge the fruit. Upon this coming-off of the pin the end of the switching rail 4 lowers at once in the direction (b) to wait the approaching of the slide-contact pin 2 of the next sorting plate.
