PURPOSE:To obtain a synthetic image having no variance of illuminance in the image reception side by arranging an illuminance variance compensating mask between the end part of each image fiber of image synthesizing multi-image fibers and an image synthesizing lens array to pick up the image of an object divisionally while overlapping partially divided images. CONSTITUTION:With respect to an image receiving part holder of image synthesizing multi-image fibers consisting of 7 image fibers 52 of a center image fiber 52A, peripheral image fibers 52B, etc., a compensating mask 80 consisting of a metallic plate 84 where regular hexagonal holes 82 are formed in the center and individual angles of a regular hexagon is arranged between end faces of image fibers 52 and a lens array 64. Therefore, each divided image 88 which is made incident on the lens array 64 through the compensating mask 80 and is projected by a synthesizing lens 62 has a regular hexagonal shape, and overlapping parts are eliminated in the synthesized image, and the variance of illuminance is compensated.
