PURPOSE:To obtain good recording and reproducing characteristics by reducing a drop of a pressure applied to a floating surface in case when a cosine angle has been set, and reducing a variation of a distance between a head and a disk by a position on the disk surface, in a magnetic disk storage device and a magnetic drum storage device. CONSTITUTION:A side rail 2 serving as a floating surface of a flying head slider 1 is inclined by an angle theta so that an air outflow side becomes high with respect to the installing surface of a supporting elastic plate 4. According to such constitution, in the floating state, a moment for enlarging a pitch angle by lowering the air outflow side of the flying head slider 1 is applied to the flying head slider from the supporting elastic plate 4. When the pitch angle is large in the floating state in this way, a drop of a distance to a disk of the air outflow side in case when a cosine angle has been set becomes small. Accordingly, a variation of a distance between a head and the disk by a head position on the disk becomes small. |
