PURPOSE:The titled additive, containing a specific polyether compound, etc., an aliphatic aldehyde addition condensate of sulfonated naphthalene, etc. and polymethylenesulfonate, etc. as essential components, and capable of stably dispersing coal powder in water. CONSTITUTION:An additive for coal-water slurry containing (A) a polyether compound (derivative) obtained by adding ethylene oxide to a compound containing active hydrogen (or an alkylene oxide mixture containing the ethylene oxide) to a compound containing active hydrogen, (B) one or more selected from aliphatic aldehyde (RA) addition condensate (salt) of sulfonated (alkyl)naphthalene, RA addition condensate of sulfonic acid group-containing aminotriazine, RA addition condensate (salt) of sulfonated creosote oil and lignin sulfonate (derivative), etc. and (C) polystyrenesulfonate and/or styrene/styrenesulfonate copolymer as essential components. EFFECT:Capable of pipeline transportation.
