PURPOSE:To obtain a record of high sensitivity with a simple and inexpensive instrument of a single beam type by supplying alternately a sample to be measured and blank sample to a sample atomizing part. CONSTITUTION:A sample supplying device 13 which supplies alternately the sample S to be measured and the blank sample B to a burner 2 in the sample atomizing part is provided to the analysis instrument of the single beam type constituted of a hollow cathode discharge tube 1 which emits the emission line of the element to be detected, the burner 2, a spectroscope 3 and a photodetector 5. A suction tube ST is first inserted into the sample B to feed the sample B from a sample atomizer 4 into a flame F and is then moved to the outside circumferential part where the tube is inserted into the sample S to supply the sample S into the flame F. A blank signal is generated by a means 10 for generating the blank signal during the supply period of the sample B. An absorbance signal is outputted as it is during the time when the blank signal is generated. The absorbance signal of the moment when the blank signal is interrupted is held by a signal storage circuit 9 and is outputted therefrom when the blank signal is interrupted. The output of the circuit 9 is subtracted from the absorbance signal itself by a subtractor 8 and is recorded. The output of the subtractor 8 during measurement of the sample B is zero and the fluctuation of the base line is removed. |
