PURPOSE:To suppress the formation of cutting scraps of a cartridge case due to a shutter slide and reduce the sliding resistance of a shutter provided slidably to the cartridge case by providing a hemispherical projection between the base and tip parts of the shutter. CONSTITUTION:The U-shaped shutter 12 is provided slidably to right and left outside the cartridge case 10, and a spindle hole 10c and a head insertion hole 10d are opened and closed simultaneously. Hemispherical projection parts 12d, 12e, 12f, and 12g provided to the internal surface of the shutter 12 slide on flat parts 10g and 10h of the cartridge case 10, so a shutter side edge part 12c never interferes with the case 10 and then produces no cutting scraps and the area of contacting of the projection parts with the case 10 is small, so the sliding resistance is small, thereby improving the operability when the cartridge is loaded on or unloaded from a recording and reproducing device.
