PURPOSE:To obtain the sealing mechanism for the rotary regenerating type heat exchanging machine capable of minimizing the leakage of liquid by permitting a seal mounting plate to expand linearly into the radial direction thereof. CONSTITUTION:The mounting plate 2 of integral structure is mounted between the radial partitioning wall 1 and the partitioning plate 7 of a heat accumulating body, rotated about the center of a rotary column 8, allover the whole length of the radial partitioning wall 1 from the side of the rotary column 8 to the side of the periphery thereof while the seal 4 of integral structure is attached to the partitioning plate 7. When the machine is operated, the partitioning wall 1 is expanded and is deformed thermally into a bow-like configuration, however, the mounting plate 2 can be expanded linearly by heat into the radial direction thereof from a starting point at the pin joint section of the side of rotary column 8 since both ends thereof are connected to the radial partitioning wall 1 through pins 12 while the intermediate section is connected to the same wall 1 through a loose fitting connecting device 13. The partitioning plate 7 is moved in parallel to the tip end of the inclined seal 4 keeping the linear condition as it is in accordance with the inclination of the mounting plate 2 and is regulated by a regulating rod 6 so that the gap between the tip end of the seal 4 and the partitioning plate 7 is maintained as the uniform minimum gap. |
