PURPOSE:A couple of flat plates to which different kinds of cells are arranged by electrophoretic force, respectively, are opposed to each other to effect automatic cell fusion in large amounts whereby a prescribed amount of hydrid cells are formed. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of electrodes 33-42 are allowed to distribute linearly or planarly on three plates which are arranged in parallel to oppose to one another. Cells A is introduced into one space 30 between the two plates among the three and individual cells are adsorbed on indivicual electrodes, 33, 35 and 37, respectively. In the meantime, a different kind of cells B is introduced into the other space 39 and similarly adsorbed on individual electrodes 40, 41 and 42, then the intermediate plates 31 and 38 are removed. High voltage is applied to the remaining couple of the flat electrodes or laser beams are irradiated to the contact points of cells A with cells B to effect simultaneouse fusion of couples of cells. |
