<p>PURPOSE:To increase the speed of response by arranging a light-emitting element in front of a light-receiving element, disposing an electrode plate in a base for the light- emitting element in front of the light-receiving element, partitioning the light-receiving element into a projection section and a shadow section for beams and forming the projection section in a photoelectric conversion section. CONSTITUTION:A PD3 is partitioned into projection sections 31 and shadow sections 32 for beams and constituted, and the shadow sections 32 are positioned at the lower sections of both lead frames 5, 7 for a LED2, and take shapes corresponding to a plate section 5a, one part of a lead section 5b and one part of the lead frame 7 for an anode. On the other hand, circular P-layers 3p are laminated and shaped to rectangular N-layers 3n in the PD3, and the P-layers 3p are formed only to the projection sections 31, thus constituting P-N junctions, then functioning as photoelectric conversion sections. The shadow sections 32 are formed only by the N-layers 3n, have no photoelectric conversion function, and do not contribute to junction capacitance. Accordingly, since the areas of the shadow sections 32 are reduced to approximately 17% as compared with the case when the P-layers 3p are also shaped to the shadow sections 32 and the P-N junctions are constituted, the speed of response on light-reception is increased to 1/(1-0.17)=1.2 times, and augmented by 20%.</p> |
