PURPOSE:To mass-produce efficiently and automatically hybrid cells, by adjusting pressure to move cells immobilized on holes under negative pressure, bringing two kinds of cells into contact, and fusing the cells. CONSTITUTION:Cells 31 immobilized on holes 34 of a substrate 33 in a buffer solution 32 under negative pressure and moved from above the holes 34 to the position above holes 35 by returning the negative pressure of the holes 34 to the positive pressure and simultaneously reducing the pressure of the holes 35 to negative pressure. Now two kinds of cells (A) and (B) are oppositely arranged on holes 84 perforated at regular intervals of unidimensional long containers 81 adjacent to each other with a partition wall 82 between them by adjusting the pressure. The partition wall 82 is then removed to adjust the pressure of the holes 84 to move the cells (B) to the cells (A) and bring the cells (A) and (B) into contact with each other. A fusion agent, e.g. polyethylene glycol, is then added and mixed therewith to fuse the two cells (A) and (B) in contact. |
