PURPOSE:To allow the magnetic disk recording device to check its operation by itself easily in a short time by forming a short circuit between a seek signal output terminal and a stepping signal input terminal, and using a trailing edge of a seek signal as a stepping signal and turning a stepping motor. CONSTITUTION:When the magnetic disk recording device 5 checks itself, the seek signal output terminal 7 and stepping signal input terminal 8 are connected mutually by a short-circuit plug 13 with the power off. The on-off switch 14 between a direction signal input terminal 9 and an earth terminal 12 is turned off and the level of the terminal 9 is set to H when the power source is turned on. When the power source is turned on, an H-level signal is outputted from the terminal 7. Then, the stepping signal is impressed to the stepping motor, a magnetic head moves to an adjacent track, and an L-level seek signal is inputted from the terminal 7 to the terminal 8. The seek signal is used as the stepping signal to rotate the motor by one step. When the switch 14 is turned on, the motor is reversed. Thus, the inspection is performed. |
