PURPOSE:To perform operation on a Diesel engine so smoothly even in case of partial cylinder operation, by installing a controlling device which performs control over a fuel injection quantity in a fuel-injection pump on the basis of a governing characteristic determined in conformity with the operating state of a partial cylinder operation controller. CONSTITUTION:When discrimination to the effect that partial cylinder operation should be done takes place at a control part 9, a partial cylinder controller 8 operates by means of a control signal CS1. Fuel out of a fuel-injection pump 3 is fed to only three specified cylinders of a Diesel engine 2. Engine speed data are outputted on the basis of mean rotation period data out of a second operation part 18, while governing control is carried out in conformity with a governing pattern for partial cylinder operation secured at a second governing pattern operation part 22. Thus, a variation in torque of the engine and generation of hunting and vibration are checkable to the fullest extent even in time of the partial cylinder operation. |
