PURPOSE:To reduce the height of a reel turntable driving device in the vertical direction, and to make the device thinner, by constituting the device so as to device the rotor rotating force by means of a mechanism for transmitting reel turntable driving power provided between the rotor and startor of a capstan motor. CONSTITUTION:A pulley 19 is united with the stator side of the boss 21 of a capstan motor composed of a rotor 4 and stator 5 and a bent 17 is stretched between the pulley 19 and a driven pulley 20. The rotating power of the capstan motor is transmitted to a reel turntable through the pulleys 19 and 20. Since a stator coil 14 is of three phases and composed of six coils in total, with one phase being composed of two coils, and the belt 17 is put in a space produced by reducing the number of the coils, a mechanism for transmitting reel base driving power can be inserted without changing the thickness between the stator 5 and rotor 4. Therefore, this device can be made thinner.
