The mould carrier consists in a conventional manner of a lower part and a cover. However, measures are provided for pivoting the cover about a further axis in addition to the opening movement. To this end a separate component, an arm or the like, is provided between the lower part and cover. The arm which bears the cover can be moved relative to the lower part, for example by means of a pivot movement about an axis parallel to the top edge of the lower part. The cover is preferably pivotable about an axis relative to the arm, which axis preferably passes through the region of the centre of gravity of the cover. By this means it is possible, after opening and after removal of the moulding, to pivot the cover additionally into a position in which it can be cleaned without hindrance and without risk of injury. <IMAGE>
