A clamping ring, which has a U-profile which is open to the centre, for barrels, having a clamping lever which is arranged on the one clamping-ring end such that it can pivot on a pin, and having clamping lugs which can pivot on the one hand on a hinge pin of the clamping lever and on the other hand on a pin which is arranged on the other clamping-ring end. The technical problem is to construct the clamping ring and the clamping lever such that the clamping lever rests flush on the back of the clamping ring and such that no additional bearing parts are required. Holders (3, 4 and 31, 41 respectively), which extend through the side pieces of the clamping ring, are provided in the region of the clamping-ring ends (1, 2), for in each case one pin (7, 8). <IMAGE>
