A heat exchanger for transmitting the energy of a first medium (a medium dissipating heat) to a second medium, having a housing and components arranged in the latter parallel to the housing wall for the purpose of passing the first medium. Such a heat exchanger according to the invention permits transmission of heat in its cold end to be substantially improved by comparison with known heat exchangers. This is achieved when the housing is subdivided by a false bottom into two housing sections A and B having a first tube plate and a second tube plate, the medium dissipating heat flowing through the heat exchanger in section A in cross-counterflow, and in section B in cross-counterflow. In order to avoid formation of condensing water, a bypass having a closing device is provided between the inlet and the outlet of the second housing section. <IMAGE> |
