PURPOSE:To print out a sentence written in plural columns easily so that it is arranged in parallel with a prescribed interval in the line direction by reading out the sentence stored in plural columns in each character string in the same line and printing out the read-out result. CONSTITUTION:A tablet key is depressed to display a format line FL on the upper part of a screen. Then, a cursor is moved to print out a mark M on a position corresponding to a line on the left end of a sentence B opposed to a sentence A. Then, a key on a keyboard 2 is depressed to output a printing command to a microprocessor 1. Consequently, whether the mark M exists on the line FL or not is detected, and when the existence of the mark M is detected, where is the position of the mark M when counted from the left end is detected and the position is stored in a memory of the processor 1. Then, the sentences A, B stored in the memory are read out in each character string in the same line with a rescribed interval and supplied to a printer 7 by a printing command to execute required printing.
