VINYL CHLORIDE RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition with impact resistance, flexural modulus and weatherability in good balance, by incorporating defoaming agent in a vinyl chloride resin prepared by grafting vinyl chloride to acrylic copolymer. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. of a vinyl chloride resin prepared by grafting 1) 99-70pts.wt. of vinyl chloride to 2) 1-30pts.wt of an acrylic copolymer with (B) 0.01-10pts. wt. of a defoaming agent. The acrylic copolymer in the component (A) should be a copolymer from i) alkyl acrylate and/or alkyl methacrylate (with the second-order transition point of the resulting homopolymer being <=-10 deg.C) and ii) a polyfunctional monomer. Said grafting (graft copolymerization) is recommended to be performed through suspension polymerization process.
