PURPOSE:To compensate the dispersion in characteristic of respective conductive parts simply and precisely by successively reading out corresponding driving bias voltage information synchronously with the selection driving operation of respective photoconductive parts, generating a driving bias in accordance with the information and applying the generated bias to respective photoconductive parts. CONSTITUTION:The driving bias information stored in a ROM 10 is read out in accordance with the specification of a control part 11 and then converted into an analog value by a D/A converter 12 and the analog value is applied to respective photoconductive elements 1 in a group selected by a switching circuit 7. In this case, driving bias voltage is fixed so that the average values of photodetecting outputs of respective elements constituting each group when light is irradiated on these element 1 with the uniform intensity of illumination are made uniform in respective groups and the digital coded information is stored in a storage part 10, so that respective groups are respectively driven by the driving bias voltage fixed in accordance with the self-output characteristics. Consequently, the dispersion of the output characteristics included in respective groups is compensated and photodetection having high reproducing efficiency is attained.
