<p>A detachable protective device for a goaltender hockey stick is formed as a channel with a base (13) and upstanding front (11) and rear panel (12) for engaging the blade (16) over the ice engaging portion (161) and part way up the upstanding portion (162). A V-shaped slot (19) at the (131) enables the cover to be folded at the heel to wrap around the heel of the blade and to adjust for different lies of blade. The rear panel (12) terminates at a lower upper edge (121) so that tape (18) wrapped around the cover and the stick can engage the stick at an exposed rear position. Openings in the rear panel are provided to reduce the weight of material.</p> |
