PURPOSE:To enable the accurate and rapid cutting of many kinds of glass without cracking even when glass has a complex shape, by preheating glass with defocused CO2 laser light and irradiating CO2 laser light focused on a very small spot on the part to be cut. CONSTITUTION:Glass 1 is put on a refractory material 2 and preheated to a prescribed temp. by irradiating defocused CO2 laser light 3 from an output end 6a. CO2 laser light 4 focused on a very small spot is then irradiated from an output end 6b to cut the preheated glass, and the cut part is slowly cooled by irradiating defocused CO2 laser light 5 from an output end 6c. Many kinds of glass can be cut independently of the kinds without cracking, and glass can be cut accurately and rapidly even when it has a complex shape. |
