PURPOSE:To curtail remarkably the height of a developing device by providing a conveyor having a toner feed mechanism so as to pass through the developing device body, and providing a collecting toner inflow port and a drop slit on this conveyor. CONSTITUTION:A screw conveyor 42 provided with a toner feed mechanism 61 is installed so as to pass through a developing device body 21. The conveyor 42 is provided with a toner injecting port 51 and a toner dropping port 54, and also provided with an inflow port 53 of a toner collected through a chute 41. Also, on a carrying gutter 45, a slit 54 for dropping the toner uniformly is formed. Accordingly, the toner fed to the screw conveyor 42 is mixed suitably with a developer and drops uniformly from the slit 54. Therefore, the toner feed mechanism 61 can be provided on the side of the device body 21, and the height of the developing device can be curtailed remarkably. |
