PURPOSE:To make the reflected light from a carved marking section into an irregular reflection state, increase its visibility, and improve the quality of the carved marking by specifying the surface roughness of part of the bottom section or part of the groove side section of the carved marking. CONSTITUTION:When a battery case is to be carved with a marking, the pedestal type top section or the wedge side of a convex carved marking is roughened so that the surface roughness is made 0.2-2mumRa, thereby the surface roughness of the groove bottom section of the case is made 0.2-2mumRa. When quenched carbon steel is used as a marking press metal, for example, the surface of the pedestal type top section or the wedge side is roughened by chemical etching or discharge machining. Then, even if electrolytic nickel plating or displacement plating for rust prevention is applied, the surface roughness is preserved and the visibility of the carved marking is improved. |
