PURPOSE:To obtain a positive-electrode plate with a high energy density by filling a cobalt-plated alkali-resistant metal porous substrate with an active material mainly made of nickel hydroxide for use as the positive electrode plate, charging/discharging it, then leaving it short-circuited or over-discharging it. CONSTITUTION:An alkali-resistant metal porous substrate is applied with cobalt plating of about 1-2mu. This cobalt-plated porous substrate is filled with an active material mainly made of nickel hydroxide, containing a small quantity of cadmium hydroxide or cobalt hydroxide in a eutectic state, and made slurry with water, etc., then it is dried. After being adjusted in thickness as a positive- electrode plate, it combined with a negative-electrode plate to from a battery, which is charged/dischaged at least once and is over-discharged by being left short-circuited or the like, then it is recovery-charged and completed as the battery. |
