PURPOSE:To dephosphorize molten steel contg. specified amounts of C and P without requiring the regulation of the Mn content by adding a dephosphorizing agent contg. specified percentages of CaO, CaF2, CaCl2 and Mn oxide to the molten steel. CONSTITUTION:To molten steel contg. <=0.50% C and <=0.30% P is added a dephosphorizing agent contg. 20-70% CaO, 1-40% CaF2 and/or CaCl2 and 10- 50% oxidizing agent consisting of oxides such as Mn oxide and iron oxide. The amount of Mn oxide among the oxides is >=10%. The molten steel can be dephosphorized without reducing the Mn content, so it is unnecessary to regulate the Mn content, facilitating the work. |
