PURPOSE:To enable efficient printing, by a method wherein a frictional feeding condition and a condition in which a fanfold paper is fed by pins are detected, and paper feeding velocity is automatically increased when performing frictional feeding. CONSTITUTION:When frictionally feeding a paper 39 other than the fanfold paper by clamping it between a platen 2 and a pinch roller 24, an operating lever 20 is turned counterclockwise to release an arm 17 from a cam 19, the arm 17 is turned around a pin 18 by a spring 27, and the pinch roller 24 comes into contact with the platen 2, when a projected piece 29 pushes an actuator 30, thereby turning ON a detecting switch 31. Where the switch 31 is turned ON, a velocity higher than a standard velocity is set on a timer 37, and the rotating speed of a paper-feeding motor 9 is increased, whereby the paper is fed by an amount corresponding to one or more lines, and then a normal printing operation is conducted. |
