PURPOSE:To obtain a material to yield a highly durable photosensitive body having a high-sensitivity photosensitive layer which consists of a uniform compsn. and does not deteriorate even at a high temp. by heating and melting Se or an Se raw material contg. a specific amt. or below of Te then holding the molten material for specified time or above at the temp. lower than said heating temp. and cooling quickly the melt to solidify. CONSTITUTION:The Se alone or the Se raw material contg. <12wt% Te is melted in a vacuum of inert gaseous atmosphere at the temp. below 450 deg. m.p. of Te and above 320 deg.C and after the melt is kept stirred for about 30-180min, the melt is held under stirring for about >=30min and within 120min at the temp lower than 240-360 deg.C melting temp. thereof, by which the melt is made uniform. The melt is then injected from a quartz nozzle, etc. into water and is quickly cooled to a room temp. to solidify. The Se or the Se-Te alloy contg. <12wt% Te obtd. in the above-mentioned manner is used for forming a photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic sensitive body. The photosensitive body which obviates crystallization of the photosensitive layer in a high-temp. environment and has high photosensitivity and excellent durability is thus obtd. |
