The invention solves the problem of effective purification of foul water and is intended in particular for use on means of transport, predominantly on ocean-going vessels. According to the invention, the foul water is first comminuted and homogenised, that is in a circulation which is composed of a through-flow screen (19), a storage chamber (1) and a circulation pump (7). Foul water treated in this manner is passed into the electroflotation chamber (3), where it is subjected to an electrolytic impregnation by a medium which causes the coagulation of the impurities. The waste water stored in the intermediate chamber (4) and the settling tank (5) is then subjected to flocculation and sedimentation, and the resulting light and floating impurities and the precipitates sinking downwards are removed by means of a skimmer driven by a motor (26) and a programme-controlled valve (18). In the final phase of the purification, the foul water is sterilised (bacteriologically) in the disinfection chamber (6) by means of a medium fed from the metering apparatus (9). The purified foul water is removed to the outside through the outlet nozzle (27) by means of the draining pump (8). <IMAGE> |
