A falling material preventing device in a skirt box of a belt conveyor is provided to prevent materials from falling regardless of position of the materials on a belt by installing a sub skirt on a moving plate. A falling material preventing device in a skirt box of a belt conveyor includes a supporting plate(10), a moving plate(20), a roller(30), and a sub skirt(40). The supporting plate is fixed on a frame. The moving plate is rotatably installed on the frame and is positioned on upper parts of both edges of a belt(B). The roller is mounted on at least one side of the moving plate for idling with being contacted with the edge of the belt. The sub skirt is mounted on the moving plate near the belt and is made of an elastic material for being in contact with an upper surface of the belt.
