<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a phased array radar equipment which compensates reduction of the antenna gain and can shorten the beam scanning time, by generating a synthetic pattern with two array antennas. CONSTITUTION:This equipment consists of an array antenna 1, a feeding control circuit 2, a transmission/reception switching circuit 3, a receiver 4, a transmitter 5, and a scanning control circuit 6. Array antennas 1A and 1B are switched in the scanning range from one bore site (theta=thetaB, theta=thetaA in the figure) to the other bore site, and transmission signals are distributed to antennas 1A and 1B and reception signals of them are synthesized by a bisecting distributor 22. Thus, since the antenna gain in this range is larger than the gain in said bore sites to improve the S/N, a number (n) of transmission pulse bits is reduced, and consequently, the scanning time of said scanning range is shortened.</p> |
