<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the characteristic of acceleration of an engine, by increasing the maximum supercharge pressure downstream of a supercharger above that upon normal operation by a predetermined amount, upon demand of acceleration at which the opening degree of a throttle valve exceeds a predetermined value and the increase rate of rotational speed of an engine exceeds a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:A supercharge pressure control device is provided therein with a maximum supercharge pressure control device 13 for controlling the maximum supercharge pressure downstream of an exhaust turbo-type supercharger 6 to a set value. In this arrangement, there is provided a throttle opening degree detecting means for detecting the opening degree of a throttle valve 4, and an engine rotational speed increase rate detecting means 20 for detecting the increase rate of rotational speed of the engine. The output signals of these detecting means 20, 26 are delivered to a supercharge pressure adjusting means 27. Further, the maximum supercharge pressure control device 13 increases, in association with the supercharge adjusting means 27, the maximum supercharge pressure above the above-mentioned set value when the opening degree of the throttle valve exceeds a predetermined value and the increase rate of rotational speed of the engine exceeds a predetermined value.</p> |
