<p>PURPOSE:To detect the information on not only the distance but the position of an obstruction with simple constitution by setting variably a sensing area by means of plural ultrasonic wave transducers having different number of oscillation pulses. CONSTITUTION:The number of the ultrasonic oscillation pulses of six or other pieces of oscillating circuits 161-166 is so controlled by a CPU11 that different oscillation pulses are generated by said circuits; for example, the circuit 163 and 164 in the central part oscillate ten pulses, the circuit 162 and 165 oscillate five pulses and the circuit 161 and 166 generate one pulse, etc. The sensing area controlled in such a manner has the max. sensitivity in the central part on the front surface and has the sensitivity decreasing successively toward both sides. The sensing area having the max. sensitivity is similarly set in a left direction, right direction, etc. The detection of the information on not only the distance but also the position of the obstruction is thus made possible with a robot, etc. by the simple constitution.</p> |
