PURPOSE:To provide a foamable composition useful to interpose between the side body and the molding of an automobile to improve the adhesivity, by mixing a specific water-containing compound to a base composed of a rubber or a synthetic resin, and heating the mixture to remove water therefrom. CONSTITUTION:A base composed of a rubber (e.g. natural rubber, styrene-butadiene copolymer, etc.) or a thermoplastic synthetic resin (e.g. epoxy resin, silicone resin, etc.) is mixed with a hydrated sodium acrylate, and the mixture is heated to evaporate the water. The obtained composition is applied in molten state to the side body at the part to attach the molding (a protecting accessory). After hardening the molten composition, an acrylic resin adhesive is applied to the part, and the molding is pressed to the side body.
