PURPOSE:To obtain a composition having excellent heat-resistance and flame-retardance, by compounding a chlorine-containing resin to a copolymer composed of methacrylic acid, alpha-methylstyrene, acrylonitrile, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective resin can be produced by compounding (A) 30- 80(wt)%, preferably 40-70% copolymer prepared by polymerizing (i) 5-40pts. (wt.), preferably 10-30pts. of methacrylic acid, (ii) 25-80pts., preferably 30- 70pts. of alphamethylstyrene (including a nucleus-substituted derivative having halogen or 1-4C alkyl group), (iii) 10-35pts., preferably 15-30pts. of acrylonitrile and (iv) 0-30pts. of a monomer copolymerizable therewith (e.g. styrene monomer, methacrylic acid ester, etc.) preferably using a polyfunctional organic peroxide and/or an azo compound as a polymerization initiator, at 80-130 deg.C, first by bulk-polymerization and then by suspension-polymerization, with (B) 20- 70%, preferably 30-60% chlorine-containing resin such as (chlorinated) polyvinyl chloride resin, ethylene-vinyl chloride copolymer, etc.
