A machine for cutting notches in a tread (2) on a vehicle tyre containing a table (1) on which the tread (2) is gradually movable from an in to an output end (1a, 1b) by means of a transportation device (4, 5, 6) and a movable cutting tool (15) between the in and output ends over the width of the tread, that is designed to cut notches in the tread during its movement over it.
