PURPOSE:A coating resin composition which allows excellent pigment dispersion, has excellent adaptability to various printing processes, excellent adaptability to coating, etc., obtained by incorporating a pigment and an organic medium into a polyurethane resin component containing a polyurethane resin having free thiol groups. CONSTITUTION:A urethane prepolymer having free isocyanate groups is synthesized from a high-molecular weight diol component and an organic diisocyanate component. A polyurethane resin having free thiol groups is then prepared by, e.g., adding a chain extender having thiol groups (e.g., ethylene thioglycol) in an amount in excess of that stoichiometrically required to this urethane prepolymer to cause to react. A polyurethane resin component consisting wholly or partly of this polyurethane resin containing free thiol groups, a pigment (e.g., titanium oxide), and an organic medium (e.g., benzene) are mixed to give an objective coating resin composition. This composition is suitably used in printing on a plastic film, etc. |
