PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material undergoing little fading or flushing of recorded images and having excellent heat sensitivity and high color forming property, wherein a compound such as benzyl p-hydroxybenzoate and a specified benzene derivative are used in combination as a color developer for a leuco dye. CONSTITUTION:A coating material obtained by mixing (A) a leuco dye, preferably, N-methyl-N-cyclohexylamino-6-methyl-7-anilinofluoran or the like in an amount of 1pts.wt., (B) a color developer consisting of (i) at least one of benzyl p-hydroxybenzoate, methyl 4-hydroxyphthalate and a bis(4-hydroxyphenylthio) alkylene derivative of formula I, wherein (n) is 1 or 2, and (ii) 1,3-di[2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-propyl]benzene of formula II in a preferable total amount of 2- 6pts.wt. and, optionally, (C) a binder or the like, is applied to a base to obtain the objective recording material. The ratio of the amount of component (i) to the amount of component (ii) is preferably 2:1-5:1. |
