PURPOSE:To provide the titled device having excellent magnetic characteristics including initial magnetic permeability, max. magnetic permeability and coercive force by consisting said alloy of specifically composed C, O, Ni and Fe, etc. CONSTITUTION:The high permeability alloy contains by weight <=0.008% C, <=70ppm O and 40-90% Ni, contains further <=0.3% Si, <=0.001% S, 0.1-2.0% Mn, <=0.05% Al, and <=0.01% Mg according to need or contains further <=10% >=1 kinds among Mo, Cu, Cr, Nb, Ta, W and V and consists of the balance Fe. The alloy has the excellent magnetic characteristics suitable as a material for microparts such as fixers for timepieces and a transformer for a pushbutton operated telephone. The magnetic characteristics are otherwise improved further if necessary or good heat treatability or high hardness is provided thereto.
